Hope you’ve been practicing!
Last month I (Don) went to Frank Poranski’s new “First Wednesday” open mic at the Oddfellow’s Hall on Namskaket Rd. I had a very rewarding experience; The building is one of Orleans’ historic landmarks and is warm and inviting. Many of the performers commented on how much they liked the room – large and open with old wood floors and tall windows. There was a table set up with coffee and treats donated by none other than Cape Cup. Free! (voluntary donations).
I sat back and relaxed, closed my eyes and listened to some very emotional and passionate singing and playing. I was transported. You know how once in a while you put in the right CD, no one is around and nothing is worrying you, you just close your eyes and allow the music to infiltrate and move you? That can happen here. It’s the right kind of place.
Musicians sign up at 6:30, show starts at 7. Very casual. Come on over to play or to listen!
